Welcome to the field hospital, the blacksmith, the armory.
(I’m not sure what my house-metaphors are yet. I’m new.)
This is a place for the triage of bullshit claims, the forging of falsifiable armour, and the tempering of epistemological weaponry.
We take up arms to fight for post-truth reconstructionism. And yes. We are half-full of ourselves; leaving room for plenty more filling.
Ah, good. I’m glad you’ve found your way here. It’s a chaotic place out there in 2026.
You likely just stepped over a dozen digital corpses, scrolled past a screaming match about geopolitics, a vapid AI-generated aphorism about “healing”, and a viral post where a fully grown up grown-up used an elementary-school insult to describe a world leader.
Like me, you’re looking for signal. Not the high-octane, low-utility noise designed to bypass your reasoning and trigger your tribal instincts.
I have created The Triple-Digit IQ Club to be your noise-canceling headphones.
To be in the Triple-Digit IQ Club, you don’t need exceptional intelligence - I’m proof enough of that. What you need, is the proper state of mind: A commitment to leaving your feelings for feeling things, and employing your reason to reason things. A desire for the things you believe to be right, not just believe they are.
That bar used to be unremarkable. But now, it’s a cudgel used to swing at enemies whose ears don’t seem to hear your mouth, or to threaten those wearing your team’s jersey if they don’t pass your tribe’s test of purity.
If you have the ability to follow an argument longer than a tweet; to notice when words stop mapping to reality; to feel a moment of friction when something doesn’t add up, even if it flatters your side, then this is your club.
This publication exists because public discourse has become saturated with people who are either unable or unwilling to reason carefully—and because the Internet today seems to be made up of systems which reward and promote it. Where bad reasoning is no longer a bug. It’s the business model.
Politics, culture, media, activism, and even “expert” commentary are increasingly driven by vibes, moral signaling, and rehearsed scripts rather than honest thinking. This place is one Gen-X’ers petulant response to the enshitification of the information superhighway.
Tl;dr: This is a space for anyone who’s been seriously wondering if they’ve been taking crazy pills.
Who Can Join
If you experience a reflexive irritation when you see these six things, ask your dog there if The Triple Digit IQ Club is right for you:
Conclusions outrunning the actual evidence.
Language doing emotional work it hasn’t earned.
Complex systems reduced to cartoon villains and saints.
Confidence substituted for coherence.
Being on the “right side” used as an excuse for sloppy thinking.
Selective skepticism that only applies to the “other team.”
In an era of anti-intellectualism, simply having a 100-IQ and a refusal to stop thinking makes you an outsider. If the name offends you, that’s okay. If it makes you feel a sense of relief, you’re in the right room.
You don’t need to be a genius; you need to be functional.
The Triple-Digit IQ Club is for anyone who affirms the Club Affirmation:
”I’ve got exactly 100 points of IQ, and I’m going to use every single one of them.”
The Greatest Sin: Epistemic Cowardice
If there is a “membership requirement” here, it is the rejection of epistemic cowardice.
The refusal to seriously entertain a competing view, even if you know it to be untrue, as a way of subjecting your own beliefs to adversarial testing in the ongoing effort to prove yourself wrong.
Epistemic (Intellectual) cowardice is the act of setting your certainty at 100% and welding your mind shut. Once you do that, you aren’t thinking; you’re associating your belief with your identity; and so you aren’t arguing, you’re defending your sense of self.
I put those certainties on the anvil to see what happens when I strike.
I care little for teams; I care about the mechanics of the argument.
My Argumentation Maxims:
Arguments matter more than intentions
Being on the “right side” of an issue does not excuse sloppy thinking.Consensus is not the same as correctness
History is full of widely shared beliefs that collapsed under minimal scrutiny.Steel men > straw men
Fight the strongest interpretation of an opponent’s argument, not the weakest.Truth first, human first too
Feelings aren’t coddled here, but everything is for humanitarianism—even truth.
This project will cover politics, culture, science, language, history, world happenings, Canadian happenings, and the ways people talk themselves into believing things that feel good but don’t survive unprotected contact with reality. Sometimes the target will be the right. Sometimes the left. They’re mainly make-belief beliefs anyways. Frequently, the target will be both—because stupidity is bipartisan and logic doesn’t care about ideology. We just happen to be living at a time when it’s concentrated far more on one “side”. I find that as much consolation as being told “Don’t worry, the ants are mostly on my side of the pizza”.
Before We Begin, We Begin with Bullshit
IQ isn’t real.
Well, not really real.
Not in any real sense, really.
Sure, it measures …something, but that thing of some is largely meaningless.
…Sort of.
…For most purposes, anyways.
People misunderstand IQ to mean “brain score”. While IQ does have application in some very narrow contexts, it’s used in public discourse almost exclusively to declare things that IQ doesn’t make declarable.
IQ’s not a high-resolution diagnostic of a how much brains you’ve got.
IQ has the resolutionary-precision of a potato camera. And I know potatoes.
To mistake an IQ score for the vast, messy landscape of human intelligence is like reading a cake recipe that lists the ingredients as "cow squeezings, deshelled pre-baby birds, and powdered plant parts."
Personally, I’ve decided to decide that triple-digit IQ is more a personal state of mind.
If you’ve ever changed your belief simply because the facts changed, consider yourself a member of The Triple-Digit IQ Club.
If you can admit you don’t have an opinion on a topic you haven’t actually looked into yet, consider yourself a member of The Triple-Digit IQ Club.
If your guiding principle is for the things you believe to be right, and not just to believe they are, consider yourself a member of The Triple-Digit IQ Club.
The Work Ahead
I am not trying to persuade everyone. I am trying to think clearly in public and to find the people who value clear and responsible thinking more than they value belonging to a tribe. Come with me, comrade, and let’s Make Arguing Great Again.
A word of warning — you won’t find comfort here for comfort’s sake, and you certainly won’t find the easy certainty of a partisan echo chamber. What you will find are “receipts”—forensic audits of the world around us conducted with typical intelligence and a refusal to look away from the data because I have a preferred narrative.
If you’re looking for certainty, this isn’t it.
If you’re looking for the same voice you expect from me after you’ve decided what bucket I belong in, definitely not.
If you’re looking for arguments that can be followed from premise to conclusion without hand-waving—welcome.
There’s no virtue here. Just a minimum standard.
That’s the club.
Welcome to the Club.
